Our Story

Bellie's Bandanas wasn't born in a boardroom, but on a long drive home from a spring break trip fueled by a friend's request and a dormant sewing skill. Combining my parents' lessons with a dash of entrepreneurial spirit, I knew this should be more than just a hobby.
But the deeper story goes beyond a love of animals, especially dogs. It's about Ellie, my first standard poodle, who became my inspiration and anchor during a time of intense struggle. Battling depression and anxiety since 15, I hit my lowest point in college. Needing a reason to face the day, and knowing a puppy wouldn't be ideal, I found Ellie Mae, a beautiful 4-year-old standard poodle.
Ellie gave me a reason to care for myself and another living being. Her reliance on me became a lifeline. Her patience while I adapted and her understanding on tough days were a gift. From the moment she hopped in the car, "Ellie Belly" was on a mission to help me.
It all started with making bandanas for her, the first one – an avocado toast print. It sparked smiles at brunch in the city and ignited a different connection between Ellie and I. It became more than just an accessory; it was a symbol of our bond.
Now, Bellie's Bandanas allows me to share that joy with others. Our handcrafted bandanas celebrate the unique personalities of dogs and the powerful connection they bring to our lives. This venture also allows me to connect with a cause close to my heart – mental health. We proudly donate 10% of profits to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
I believe in the power of dogs to heal, and I'm so grateful for this chance to share that belief and bring a smile to your face and your pup's. With Ellie and my second standard poodle, Juno, by my side, I'm driven to serve others and share the power of the human-animal bond.
